Annual Report 2014

The values that apply in sport are universal. All over the world, sport is passion; it brings people together, it helps to promote good health, and brings out the best in people. Sport is an inspiring influence, everywhere, worldwide.

NOC*NSF works on a daily basis to foster a positive sports climate in the Netherlands, one in which elite athletes can excel and that encourages the rest of the population to exercise as much as possible. NOC*NSF sees top-class sport and recreational sport as yin and yang; they are interwoven in numerous ways. That is why the Dutch sports world is rightly proud of what was achieved in 2014. It was not just the year that saw the Dutch Olympic Team return from Sochi with an extraordinary 24 medals, but it was also the year in which the number of Dutch people taking part in sport rose to nine million.
